WHY DO HUMANS CATEGORIZE HUMANS??

What do people think when they are putting each other in different boxes .....the huge transfer flow of ideas and our need to categorize. Is it a inherent need for each of us to structure and group at a core level , is it something that is hard-wired and imbibed in our DNA . People around us are as unique as day and night itself the contrast is mind boggling and refreshing .

But what is this need for us to structure and categorize every person, group them together into one box which on a logical level is difficult to perceive since each one of is unique on so many different levels of our life.

I am sitting in a class today seeing my friends and classmates frantically discussing their ideas and opinions an i am thinking how exactly will they come to a common ground and why? the big question i guess that i don't think we will ever have the answer to unless we are GOD. I am looking at a class that is so mixed in all respect of life they are so different and here we are sitting together discussing all about different things and finding a common ground to go about it ......It is simply amazing how the mind works. we all are talking at a different level then where is that they find their common ground? and why do we compromise and accommodate? what people see and feel what is the mechanism behind it ? whatever it is , it is baffling as the mysteries of the universe itself. one would like to argue that it might be because you try not to be unique and stand out. But I think why not aren't we unique in every possible way there is to be. There might be likeness to what you like, two people might like the same things, but the depth of their feelings can't be the same. The way they perceive and see things will be so different at all the fundamental levels. so is it our obsession to categorize or is it just our need to be happy and make others happy find a common grounds maybe. How we achieve it is quiet interesting though. what sort of a unique mechanism we human beings are, so perfect yet so flawed. We will keep on finding structure to everything. NOTHING IS RANDOM. Our unique desire to see a pattern in everything RANDOM drives us.

She Said Its Not You Its Me

She said its not u its me
all this was meant to be

He said don't go away
lets fight and stay

She said its not u its me
it is our destiny

He said don't go away
I would crumble and fray

She said its not u its me
my desire, is the way

He said don't go away
i would make the way

She said its not u its me
i wanna go, no more

He said don't go away
i will wither and sway

But she said no more
and he lived no more.......

Lost in Glasgow (My very first day)

LOST IN GLASGOW

Now a days we people are all gaga about how the world has shrunk.. we say the world is a small place, that distances don't matter any more....but tell me guys does it really don't matter ???? i for one beg to differ a bit i believe its not the distances that keeps the world separate but the differences......We Indians still believe that going abroad is a qualification in itself ..i know many of u would be thinkin what! no that's not it,,,,It is no big deal .and i agree, recently i moved to U.K and till the very last moment it was like normal for me although it was my first time  traveling outside India...the moment my flight landed in London a crazy weirdness started to kick in  ..no more the idea that the world is a small place seemed all that appealing to me ....it was fear and excitement mixed together in a potent combination which gave me a altogether different high i was high on life it seems.......the fear of being in an unknown place and the excitement for the same is strange in itself...i was lookin around just for that small glimpse of the familiarity that i might have experienced back at home ....but i tell u there was none......lol.......but like everything in life it gradually seeps in .........anyways i cleared the customs and got on my flight to Glasgow....and i was all excited to see this new place that was gonna be my home for the next whole year.....let me tell u one thing that was clear to me the moment i set  foot in Glasgow, it is a beautiful place to be in if u can adjust to the ever changing weather here.....it might be a sunny day the very next moment it will start raining...u will fall in love with the place immediately .one of the reasons being, it is so differently similar and i mean it ..It has all the looks and flavors of a western country and yet it is so desi at heart......it is as same as it is different from India ....the city wants to party all the time....the people around are friendly and will help u out with everything they can.......

I stayed for sometime in a dorm called blue sky hostel .a fuckin awesome place i tell u not because they provide u with world class amenities or something but the warm welcome and the chance to mix with people from all over the world was a pleasure......people around u as scared as u r was in a sadistic way reassuring that u are not the only one alone lost in a foreign city.

The police here is fast  those who don't know i am saying this from personal experience.....unlike back in India police will be knocking at your doors the moment somebody calls them even if it is nothing.........the very first day i landed i had the misfortune or the fortune i really don't know what it was still i got to meet the cops here( "they were huge" )..i was taking some pictures of a old Victorian style library and somebody was wise enough to call the cops.i was like is it crime to click photographs and they said "its OK mate we are here to inquire only"really dude hnnn..i tell u i was trying to put a damn strong face but i was scared to hell... but these guys turned out to be nice and saw the pics appreciated it and left....thank god for that....this place is bustling with people all the time and all they want to do is party .............its time for me to stop too i think i hear voices down there calling me to come, forget my worries and get lost in the crowd partying................

" We humans are a unique kind of lost, we are lost on everything, we are lost in identity, we are lost in relationships, we are lost on satisfaction, we are lost on differences but also we are lost in the only thing that makes this sanely insane world so lovable, we are lost in happiness on the smallest spec of hope"
WE ARE LOST

Facebook in afterlife..............

(Disclaimer: No offence meant to any religion here, just take this article lightly)

In my last 6 months out of blogging I have been involved into extensive chats with a lot of friends. Some of them raised a lot of funny issues, especially with the new fad called “Facebook”. In a chat with Sheekha, I once wondered how it would be like if one could actually update Facebook chats even after one is dead JJust the thought of it was funny enough, and I felt it could be one of my first posts once I re-start blogging.

Since death is a serious topic, it has to be dealt with through the viewpoint of various religions. Let us consider the case of Facebook being the common media here, and imagine how people from different religions would update their SMs on Facebook just before and after they are dead J Equally applicable to Twitter (when restricted to 140 characters)

Year: Around 2050. Location: Hyderabad, India. Middle-class old man in his 70s, about to die because of a prolonged illness. Grumpy character, young at heart. Family and friends are at his deathbed. (Else just imagine me dying at the age of 70, just to make it easier for you fellas to imagine)

Day (-2) Afternoon: Damn all this hullabaloo. Everyone wants to meet you only when you are about to die. Sickening attitude of the younger generation I say. Will update SM later on, have to “entertain” some distant relatives. Damn, these women just can’t hide their tears, can’t they?

Day (-2) Night: Good night people, hopefully I’ll get to see you tomorrow.

Day (-1) Afternoon: Yep still alive and kicking (figuratively). Too many cute kids around the bed, busy day ahead. Can’t they leave an old man in peace even when he is about to die?

Day (-1) Evening: Grandson arrives from America. Looks like he inherited his mother’s genes – looks as Chinese as any of them J He speaks strange, but am glad to have finally seen him.

Day (-1) Night: Ok another good night. Feeling really sick today. May not live to see another day. I guess “Die Another Day” doesn’t apply to be anymore.

Day (0) Morning: Yep, I am officially dead – now how cool is that!! Hmmm. A moment of silence for my soul – wait, that’s me!!!! Died peacefully in my sleep. Got to update my status to “Dead”.

Day (0) Afternoon: Breaks my heart to see all those crying relatives (HA HA HA!!!) - I’m now free you suckers!!! Yahooooo!!! Man, I love this Candid Camera thingie – being a soul is so freaking awesome!!!

Day (0) Night: Whoa!!! Feeling depressed seeing all those sad faces. Looks like those blokes really loved me, and were not after my money. Hmmm. Now I’m feeling sad (sob sob). I’ll miss them too. But death comes to us all, I guess.

Now I explore 2 scenarios – one for a Hindu, and the other for a Christian.

Hindu:

Day (1) Morning: Man, I did not know so many people loved me. I can even see some Facebook friends down here, people who I have never seen before. I’ll miss their online company surely.

Day (1) Evening: Body up for cremation. Life comes full circle once again. Hey, just realized that cremation and creation are separated by just 1 letter J English is a veru funny language J

Day (2): It’s fun moving all over the planet. Still waiting for Soul-Transfer order, I guess even God’s administration is run by the Government of India :D Meanwhile finally getting to see the Mona Lisa in Paris. Piece of crap it is. Thankfully never wasted real money to come this far. Will spend the night in Paris itself.

Day (3): Getting a sneak-peek inside the White House, and you will be amazed at the “affairs” of the administration J Damn, the secretaries are super-hot, I do not blame Bill Clinton even a little bit for his indiscretion!!! Amazing architecture (and I am not referring to the decorum here) :P

Day (4): Finally received orders… Looks like I’m going to be a human being once again – Yipee!!! I’m gonna be Warren Buffet III J Finally, God shows me the path to enlightenment!!! Cya folks, once I am ready to use FB once again… Signing Off…

Christian:

Day (1) Morning: Relatives pouring in, with their beautiful wives - Finally I can stare at people without making them uncomfortable :P Poor wifey seems inconsolable, but I’m finally free of her nagging!!! God is great!!!

Day (1) Evening: God gives me choice to either wait till I’m buried or start my journey towards the “Decision Box” (where my fate is sealed) right now. Decided to check out my fate than see the sorry faces of relatives.

Day (2): Moving upwards at a very fast pace… Already passed 4 galaxies and still no sight of the “Decision Box” or any life-form. Fate awaits.

Day (3): Finally reached the Box. Man, the line is long!!! Looks like God takes a lot of time to pronounce judgment on us. The stat-o-meter outside the room shows that 90% of the people end up in hell. Network reception is less here (high altitude) so will update SM once I reach the box.

Day (8) Morning: My turn next!!! Hope I end up in Heaven!!! Wish me luck fellas J

Day (8) Evening: Sad news. My Good:Bad ratio turns out to be 48:52… Was a close call. Finally God decided I must go to Hell, to set an example for other close-shaves like me (I wonder what Gillette has to say about this one :P) Got to change into the appropriate clothes in the Preparation Chamber.

Day 9: Just told that Heaven and Hell are similar, just that Hell does not have internet connectivity. My Nexus 25 will be confiscated soon (sob sob). Guess this is my last update. See you in Hell folks :D

Why men can't help it

Why men can't help it

(This classic Dave Barry column was originally published Nov. 23, 2003.)

I like to think that I am a modest person. (I also like to think that I look like Brad Pitt naked, but that is not the issue here.)

There comes a time, however, when a person must toot his own personal horn, and for me, that time is now. A new book has confirmed a theory that I first proposed in 1987, in a column explaining why men are physically unqualified to do housework. The problem, I argued, is that men -- because of a tragic genetic flaw -- cannot see dirt until there is enough of it to support agriculture. This puts men at a huge disadvantage against women, who can detect a single dirt molecule 20 feet away. This is why a man and a woman can both be looking at the same bathroom commode, and the man -- hindered by Male Genetic Dirt Blindness (MGDB) -- will perceive the commode surface as being clean enough for heart surgery; whereas the woman can't even ``see'' the commode, only a teeming, commode-shaped swarm of bacteria. A woman can spend two hours cleaning a toothbrush holder and still not be totally satisfied; whereas if you ask a man to clean the entire New York City subway system, he'll go down there with a bottle of Windex and a single paper towel, then emerge 25 minutes later, weary but satisfied with a job well done.

When I wrote about Male Genetic Dirt Blindness, many irate readers complained that I was engaging in sexist stereotyping, as well as making lame excuses for the fact that men are lazy pigs. All of these irate readers belonged to a gender that I will not identify here, other than to say: Guess what, ladies? There is now scientific proof that I was right.

This proof appears in a new book titled ``What Could He Be Thinking? How a Man's Mind Really Works.'' I have not personally read this book, because, as a journalist, I am too busy writing about it. But according to an article by Reuters, the book states that a man's brain ``takes in less sensory detail than a woman's, so he doesn't see or even feel the dust and household mess in the same way.'' Got that? We can't see or feel the mess! We're like: ``What snow tires in the dining room? Oh, those snow tires in the dining room.''

And this is only one of the differences between men's and women's brains. Another difference involves a brain part called the ``cingulate gyrus,'' which is where emotions are located. The Reuters article does not describe the cingulate gyrus, but presumably in women it's the size of a mature cantaloupe, containing a vast quantity of complex, endlessly recalibrated emotional data involving hundreds, perhaps thousands of human relationships; whereas in men it's basically a cashew filled with NFL highlights.

In any event, it turns out that women's brains secrete more of the chemicals ``oxytocin'' and ``serotonin,'' which, according to biologists, cause humans to feel they have an inadequate supply of shoes. No, seriously, these chemicals cause humans to want to bond with other humans, which is why women like to share their feelings.

Some women (and here I'm referring to my wife) can share as many as three days' worth of feelings about an event that took eight seconds to actually happen. We men, on the other hand, are reluctant to share our feelings, in large part because we often don't have any. Really. Ask any guy: A lot of the time, when we look like we're thinking, we just have this low-level humming sound in our brains. That's why, in male-female conversations, the male part often consists entirely of him going, ``Hmmmm.'' This frustrates the woman, who wants to know what he's really thinking. In fact, what he's thinking is, literally, ``Hmmmm.''

So anyway, according to the Reuters article, when a man, instead of sharing feelings with his mate, chooses to lie on the sofa, holding the remote control and monitoring 750 television programs simultaneously by changing the channel every one-half second (pausing slightly longer for programs that feature touchdowns, fighting, shooting, car crashes, or bosoms) his mate should not come to the mistaken conclusion that he's an insensitive jerk. In fact, he's responding to scientific biological brain chemicals that require him to behave this way for scientific reasons, as detailed in the scientific book ``What Could He Be Thinking? How a Man's Mind Really Works,'' which I frankly cannot recommend highly enough.

In conclusion, no way was that pass interference.

AMERICAN'S VIEW OF THE WORLD

UPDATE: Ken Schouten writes:

I am Canadian, a regular visitor to LewRockell.com, and do not change my habits when I travel. I was in the Beijing airport the other day and there was a group of MBA students from University of Connecticut waiting for the same flight as me. These students were very well dressed for a group of people that has not produced anything of significance to date. I overheard them talk down about some of the clothes and styles of the Chinese, the food they eat, the dirtiness of the cities, etc. One comment stood out: “Beijing, the city that gets under your fingernails.” Nice to be able to talk about your lender that way. They truly do view Asia as a place where people just make stuff for them. I tried to engage one of them: I asked her about the economics courses that she took. She was “not really interested in economics because she was specializing in Marketing and International Business.” Pretty much representative of the rest of the crowd—judging by the comments and conversations that I overheard. On the airplane, I was seated next to a Chinese executive for a large American company; any one of the students could have spoken to this guy and really learned something about International Business and Marketing in China; they were oblivious. This Chinese executive (non-MBA) spoke to me about his concern about the future of the US currency (thinks it will collapse) and diversification plans for the Asian part of the business (do not include US), while the MBA students went on talking about which cars they were going to own after graduation.

If this is any indication of what is coming out of other schools, the future stewards of American business are clueless.
